Hi Ash, I haven't used this resource before, but have you looked at the info on the city of Sydney website?

Antrim / William McVeagh- carrickfergus
« on: Tuesday 31 January 12 01:22 GMT (UK)  »
I am searching for any information about William McVeagh and his family. William was tried at Carrickfergus and transported to Australia in 1819, age 22. he was a labourer.

I have convict records from the time he arrived in Tasmania, but no links to his family in Ireland. Have any court records from this time survived?
Help!!

The local newspaper archives should be helpful, especially if you have some event dates to work with, suchas a marriage or death. Also, check the Nottinghamshire Archives on-line catalogue,  and Trade and Street directories (held at Library, I think). Military records for WW1 may be helpful, also.
Hope this helps. Good Luck!

England / Re: John Kempson. Updated.

Hi there, I see that you're tracing the Kempson/ Stokes  family of Ruddington. I have also done a lot of research on this line of my tree, and have a particular interest in the elusive Henry, my g-g-g-grandfather. His son, Frederick, born in South Australia is my ancestor. Your post is a few months old, so perhaps all your questions have been answered now? I have quite a few docs, and happy to share- still don't know where Henry ended up, though!
