Ireland / Harpers of Kilkenny

am hoping to find information on my Great Granmother's family.  My G,Grandmother was Mary Harper possibly born in Kilkenny in abt 1867.  She married Robert Thompson, (1856 - 1945) who served in the Royal navy.  Robert Thompson was born in Co Carlow and was adopted and raised in Greystones.  His birth parents Alexander and Anne Thompson didn not raise him.

I have records of her from the 1901 and 1911 Irish censuses, and family lore says that her family was from Kilkenny.  I do have a memory from my childhood in the 60's of going to visit distant cousins on a farm in Kilkenny

Many thanks,

Trevor
