The marriage certificate (1921) of George William and Charlotte Mawdsley lists his father as John Woodage, farmer. They stayed married until 1931 when George left home, they only had two children John Derek, born 1922,and my father Ivor Colin, born 1924. We don't think George had any more children. He lived in Hayes, Middx, my father only saw him once after he left and that was years later.
George William was 22 when he married so that would make his birthdate 1899 or 1900, He was born in Berkshire.
I'm not sure how this ties in with your research but if you have any more info on our John Woodage that would be great. My father would like to know if he has any other relatives.
Do you mind me asking why you are researching the Woodage family?

Hi Glen,
I have just seen your post about John Derek Woodage. He was my uncle. My father Ivor Colin Woodage is his brother. He is now 87 and lives in Hertfordshire. My grandmother was Charlotte Woodage (nee Mawdsley). She died in 1990.
My grandparents split when my father was very young so he does not know very much about his father, but would like to know more about that side of his family.

My father has full details of the Liberator crash and what followed. Did you have family on the plane?
