Wow! Thanks for nailing it one Davey.

And, yes, I'm very interested in any other info you have on these families.

Many thanks Andy. This definitely looks like the right family. Some of the other names look like possible connections too.

Armagh / WILSON Seagoe - Ballymacrandal, Ballynaghy, Lisnisky
« on: Friday 30 December 11 03:30 GMT (UK)  »
George WILSON m. Sophia BRADSHAW Seagoe 3 Sep 1835

They had at least two children, James and George, born in Ballymacrandle/Ballymacrandal, around 1840.

George married Judith HENRY born in Lylo (dau of William HENRY and Elizabeth TWYNEM, and grandaughter of Rev Robert HENRY of Seagoe) and emigrated to Pukekohe, New Zealand, in 1880.

James married Sarah "Sadie" SOMERVILLE and farmed in Ballymacrandal. He and Sarah had at least one son, Joseph WILSON, b, 7 Feb 1875, Ballymacrandle.

Any info on these families would be appreciated.

Key townlands seem to be: Ballymacrandal, Ballynaghy, Ballygargan, Ballyhannon, Breagh, Drumnacanvy, Lisnisky, Lylo and maybe others nearby.

Surnames associated with these families:
WILSON
BRADSHAW
CALVERT
HENRY
TWYNEM/TWINEM
HARRISON
HAYES
HART
McMURRAY
SOMERVILLE/SUMMERVILLE

Many thanks

I'm trying to find the connection between two Seagoe Parish families who emigrated to Pukekohe, NZ.

John HART and Mary Ann (nee McMURRAY) from Ballygargan arrived in 1865.

George WILSON and Judith (nee HENRY) from Ballymacrandal/Ballymacrandle/Ballymacrander etc. (neighbouring townland to Ballygargan) arrived in 1880.

The HART and WILSON children knew each other as "second cousins", so a parent (or perhpas grandparent) from each of these couples must have been first cousins. But which two? And how were they cousins?

I know nothing about the parents of John HART and Mary Ann McMURRAY, but I do have some information on those of George WILSON and Judith HENRY.

George's parents were George WILSON (whose mother was a CALVERT) and Sophia BRADSHAW m. 3 Sep 1835 in Seagoe. They had at least two children, George (the one who emigrated to Pukekohe) and James who kept farming in Ballymacrandle, where he and his wife (Sarah SOMERVILLE) had at least one son, Joseph, (b. 13 March 1875).

Judith HENRY was born in Lylo, the daughter of William HENRY, and grand-daughter of Rev Robert HENRY and Sarah (nee HARRISON) of Seagoe Parish
Her mother was Elizabeth TWYNEM, daughter of James TWYNEM and Ann (nee HAYES).

Are you able to add anything that might get me closer to solving this one?

Many thanks.
