Lanarkshire / Re: Alexander Plenderleith Old Monkland 1841

Unfortunately, I don't have an Alexander Plenderleith that married a Margaret Aitkin in my line.  Nor do I have an Agnes Plenderleith married to Ebenezer Naismith in my line.

Sorry.

I did notice on the LDS that Alexander Plenderleith and Margaret (Mary) Aitkin (Aiton) had a son named James Plenderleith on 29 May 1858.  I, too, do not see the birth of your Agnes Plenderleith.  But James must be her brother.

Alison,
I went back to my source for why I thought that your Robert Plenderleith (m. to Elizabeth Patterson) was the brother of my Alexander Plenderleith (m. to Elizabeth Bell Walkingshaw).  My source was another Plenderleith researcher.  I have not yet confirmed any of her data.  Thanks for the correction.

I appreciate your responses,
Jill

Alison,

My interest is with your Robert's brother:

Alexander Plenderleith (m. Elizabeth Bell Walkingshaw in 1836.)

And their parents:   Alexander Plenderleith and Anne Fairley.
Do you have any information on Alexander (Robert's father b. 1778) or on Alexander (Robert's brother b. 1814)?

I descend from Alexander Plenderleith's and Elizabeth Bell Walkingshaw's daughter Ann Plenderleith.

Thanks,
Jill

Thank you so very much for looking into the 1851 index.  I'm pretty sure they had moved on out of Lanarkshire by then.

I'm hoping for some luck with the 1841 Census.   Based on the birth record of one of their daughters, in 1841 they were living in Gartsherrie, Old Monkland.  Do you have access to this census?

Thanks again for looking at the 1851 index.

Searching for information on Alexander Plenderleith and his wife Elizabeth Bell Walkingshaw.

In 1841, they were living in Old Monkland.  I think he was a collier at Gartsherrie.

Has anyone run across this family in their research?

Would someone be willing to look at the 1841 Old Monkland census for this pair?

Fife / Morrison/Patrick from Monimail 1841
« on: Monday 17 October 05 18:18 BST (UK)  »
James Morrison married Janet Patrick/Peddie/Patherick in Monimail on 09 Dec 1810.  He was a member of the Fife Militia.

Has anyone else come across them in their research?  Many of their adult children appear in Dundee and Liff (in Angus) on the 1841 Census.

I can not locate the above parents.

Would someone be willing to check the 1841 Monimail census for James and Janet?
