Hello thank you for your post I have a tree on Ancestry (do you) I have been researching my Watson line for a while  Emma,s son John Thomas Watson is my GGrandfather John came to Australia with Emma William and Sarah (his sister). I am interested in your line and would be interested in your info on the Watsons and Short family, mainly Short as I have been looking for a Sarah Short John Holton line , trying to link them to my Emma, many trees on Ancestry have Sarah Hammond being Emmas mother  so wrong as I have confirmation from another researcher in Australia that it is not her (this one died in 1831 and I still have Sarah alive in the 1851 census living with  the Cox family, I dont know how to give you my Email privately do you  hope we can share something   Cathleen

Hello do you have any details on John Irvine son of Robert Irvine and Jenet Telfer.
The details on the IGI Index give John born ?Christening date 21 Nov. 1776
Research given to us has John Irvine marrying Agnes/Anne Laurie/Lawrie.
My interest is their son John marrying Margaret Steedman and living in St Cuthberts Edinburgh we have quite alot of info on this family ,but nothing back further,  the granddaughter of John and Margaret come to Australia.
Thanks  Cathleen

Hello  thanks to everyone for their interest I am not sure when Margaret emigrated but on the birth cert for first child she says she was married to John Thurgood and they were married in Meningie South Aust  in1869 those shipping records are hard to track just to make it more interesting I found a marriage for her and John Thurgood in 1886 after all the children were born and she lists her father as a engineer/surveyor I have all John Thurgoods family from another researcher but cant find his arrival either. I,m beginning to think the John Cameron at 15 St Anthony Place has no ties with them
I,ll take a look at the other 1851 census as none of the ages  are altogether right  Thanks to everyone

Hello Monica  thank you for your reply regarding John Cameron  I had the info on the 1851 census also when I sent for the whole census I also found a John Cameron Clerk to a Vetinary Surgeon along with his wife Mary John is listed age 54 so I thought I had the right one. Further research finds him still in Edinburgh but the ages differ on every census, finally found him oback in aberdeen/inverness sent for death certificate but I dont think hes the father of Margaret his wife was Mary Wallace from Ellon and Johns age is listed as 84 years in 1886 making him born in 1802 or there abouts his parents were Angus Cameron and Catherine Mclaughlan on the census his birth place is Fort William Invernesshire strange that at 15 StAnthony place we have them there along with  the Irvines if he is the grandfather of Margaret  I can find no record of a birth for a son John  I,m still looking though  Cathleen
