Buckinghamshire Lookup Requests / Re: 1841-1851-1861-71 Bucks Census

Hi KA,

No Marriage Cert (my original post was asking whether anyone had a copy) and no birth cert (yet!).  Charlotte and her four children, George, Julia, Amos and Samuel are all listed as living with their (grand)father William on the 1861 census.  They are all listed as Hedges, their mother's maiden name so I'm thinking that she didn't marry hence my thought that she remained unmarried.  I can't find anything on the 1871 census for Charlotte or any of the children.  I'm still fairly new to genealogy so I may be missing the basics here.  Most confused.  I think I may have to order the certificates and see what comes up.

Kindest Regards

Tracy

Hi KA

I hope this all makes sense!

No, my listing for John Hedges and Sarah Kibble (I spelt her surname wrong) is to explain a Higgs connection i.e. their daughter Eliza married a William Higgs and had two children Sarah and John.

My connection to the family is as thus: John's father James b1763 - then James' father James b 1735 - then James b 1693 (John's Great Grandfather who married Hannah Badrick) had a older brother called Richard b1681 - Richard's oldest son was called Richard!  b1710 - he had a son called Thomas b 1758 and in turn he had a son called William b 1798.  Still with me?

It's William's daughter Charlotte b1832 that I was referring to in my original message.  She had four children and it is her daughter Julia Hedges b 1854 that married George Bignell b1853.  George and Julia had a daughter called Mary b1881 who is my Great grandmother - she married Alfred Bonham b1882.

Available data would appear to suggest that Charlotte didn't marry and it was this that I needed help with - I would love to put a name to my Great x3 Grandfather if I could!

Hope this makes sense - any help anyone can offer would be gratefully received!

Kindest Regards

Hi KA,

John Hedges b 1796 married to Sarah Kimble is my 3 cousin 6 times removed.  I noticed your (old) message and thought I would post this.  John's daughter Eliza b 1826 married a William Higgs and had two children Sarah and John.

I would like some help with my connection to the Hedges - Charlotte Hedges (Wingrave b1832) (Her daughter Julia is my link into the Hedges family) - does anyone have a copy of Charlotte's marriage cert?  I'm thinking that she was unmarried and had four children but I'm not sure - Charlotte is my Great x3 Grandmother and I would love to know if she married and to whom?

Thanks for any help.

Kindest regards

Dear Nick29

My relatives were in the Straw Hat trade in Luton in the mid 1800's to its decline at the end of the century.  Do you have any Inwards in your family tree?

Dear Caron,

I come from a very long line of Bonham's based in and around Leighton Buzzard and have 9 Sarah Bonham's on my tree but alas not your's (or so it seems at the moment!!).  Do you have any further info on her?  Let me know and I'll help out any way I can.

Buckinghamshire Lookup Requests / Re: 1851, 1861 Census Wingrave - BONHAM
« on: Thursday 22 December 11 22:19 GMT (UK)  »
Hello everyone,

I am part of the Bonham 'Wingrave, Bucks' Clan (and Inwards 'Beds' Clan on my mother side) here in the UK.  Am interested in anything anyone cares to offer but my beginners search leads me to believe that Joseph Bonham b1766 and his wife Elizabeth Folly emigrated to Australia.  His son Ephraim Bonham with Sarah Turney may have moved to Australia as well (on the ship Phoebe from London via Plymouth and arrived 27.3.1847).

Here's to hoping I'm gonna find something!

Merry Christmas everyone
