Hi.  My mum was there around 1941/1942.

Hi.  Re the comment about the 3 Dublin homes working together to hide information.  I have found out that my late mother was in a home ran by a Nurse Ada Collins at 67 St Stephens Green, Dublin.  The Irish Adoption Agency tell me that Nurse Collins was notorious for hiding information and they have great difficulty in tracing information regarding 'Nurse Collins babies'.  I wonder if Nurse Ada Collins could be connected to the other homes you mention in your post.

Hi All

Does anyone have any information regarding a Nurse Collins, who ran a mother and baby home in Dublin.  My mother was 'passed through' this home in 1941 and it seems Nurse Collins did not keep records of the birth families of the babies that were passed through her home for adoption.  Nurse Collins has passed away and it seems her records are nowhere to be found.  Has anyone else heard of Nurse Collins and did you manage to find any information regarding babies she put out for adoption.

Thank you.

Hi.

There was only the home address on the birth certificate and the name of a of Doctor. Also said katie was a 'domestic'.

I've emailed the sisters. The uk email address failed to go through, but the email to Maryland went through.

Hi Tara

Thanks for the reply. My mum passed away so I'm hoping it's ok that I include her details on this post. Her name was Brigid O'Neil and she was born on 22.5.1941.  Her mothers name was Katie O'Neil.  This is the only information I have.  I will also contact the sisters via the email address you posted.

Thanks
Andrea

Hi.

This is my first time using this site. Does anyone know where I can find information about births at the county home, Rathdrum. My mum was born there in 1941. I know her mothers name and have a copy of my mums birth certificate, but that's all I have. I'm trying to find out further information about her mum (my grandmother).

Thanks
