The marriage certificate doesn't list many details as very early in the colony. Albert is listed a bachelor and Honoria a spinster. They were married by banns by the Chaplain at St Stephens church in Portland (Australia). Witness John Wright and Henry ?. No parents names, occupation or residential information is included.

I found 3 children on the electoral rolls living with Emily Ethel after the divorce. She remarried in 1938 to Mervyn Thomas ECCLESTONE.

Maybe I wasn't clear in what I wrote. Just meant that if the SA Sidney Leslie ALLEN moved from SA all other details on the record are almost the same at the one that I'm looking for. I don't have access to any electoral rolls from SA to confirm he didn't move interstate.
And yes I will be trying to follow-up the death in 1964 to see if it might be correct.

Ros I would be interested to know a little more about the divorce as I did a quick search and it looks like they had 3 children when he deserted the family. As long as it's not too much trouble.
I posted the information about the SA Sidney Leslie ALLEN as his parents are John and Emily, the same as my Sidney and the were born only 5 months apart. It could be easy to get their records confused.

Emily Keswick ACKROYD is the daughter of my 4x great grandfather William. She's the eldest daughter of his second marriage after the death of his first wife.

Just to muddy the waters I've found a Sydney Leslie ALLEN born 6 Dec 1893 in South Australia to parents John ALLEN and Emily Helena THOMAS

None of the names in the death notice belong to his siblings. All 4 of his sisters (Mary, Emily, Annie & Margaret) and brother (William) were deceased by 1952 and living brothers were James, John, Robert and Alfred.
