Dear All Berry Descendants,

I have one for you all. I have a relative called Harriet Berry who ran away from Ireland with one of the Estates gardener's called R Rock (I think the R stood for Richard as one of is sons was called Richard).

They moved to Albany in New York and had at least three children called Richard, Harriet and Mary Ann. Mary Ann was born in 1815 and died 22nd Sep 1904 at Westgate in Margate, UK.

So I guess their mother was born around 1785 to 1795, which would make her father Thomas Berry And Mary (nee Pringle). Of course in those days if she had eloped with the gardener I am sure the family did their best to cover up that they ever had a daughter called Harriet!!

So if anyone can find anything on Harriet Berry I would be most impressed and Happy!

Best wishes,

William

My great Grand father Charles A Jeffcock lived in Mortomley hall till around the turn of the century, and my Great Grand Uncle William Parkyn Jeffcock lived on the Darley Hall until 1918??

Does anybody have information about either of these two houses from 1900 to the present?

Thanks,

William Jeffcock

Dear Mr Slade,

I believe that the owner of Cwmcarvan Court was Mr William Parkyn Jeffcock. I have a document dated by him in 1918. He was my Great Uncle (ie my Great grandfather's brother). I know he died childless, and supposedly left his estate to the groom. I am actually trying to find out what happened to him.

best regards,

William Jeffcock

Can some one please asssit me in locating the Electoral Role for Cwmcarvan Court, Cwmcarvan, Trelleck, Mon., for 1912-13. My father Jack Henry Slade Bn 1912 at Cwmcarvan Court. His father George Slade Mother Rose Alice Slade listed on Birth Cert as Butler Domestic. I am trying to find out the name of the house owner. It was sold by Auction in 1910.
I have tried Gwent Records Office, Newport Records, Monmouth Museum and Monmouth Library no one has any idea where these records are.
