Hi Carole.

Thank you for your note.

I know Mary Allen Mainwarings's personal details.  What I would like to know about is her professional life as a singer.  She sang under the name of Mary Allen as a solo artist for the BBC and with choirs.  She also did a lot of charity work.

Mary's husband Charles Mainwaring was the father of the founder of D J Motor Coaches, a firm Which I believe still has a base in Gilfach Goch.

Thanks again for your reply.

Hello.

Can anyone tell me about the operatic singer Mary Allen?  She lived between the years 1910 and 1959 and won the National Eisteddfod on two occasions.

Her married name was Mary Mainwaring and I understand that the people of Gilfach Goch presented her with a silver tea service in recognition of her achievements.

Happy Christmas everyone.

Thanks for you message Morgan.

I am new to this site and am trying to find my way around.  Not sure how I get started with postings, other than sending a reply in this way.

Can you point me in the right direction please?

Regards,

Vaynor

Hello pricewynne

I have just seen your story about Job Evans who was living with Job Enoch in 1841.  I am the 3 X grandaughter of Job Enoch. What is your connection?

I have lots of information that can be shared.

Regards,

Vaynor
