Hello. The widow is listed with her maiden name. She was Victoire Francoise. Her son was Aimable Le Comte. They were living in the parish of St Owen in 1881.

Hi.  I am trying to discover where my great great grandfather died. His name was Alphonse Lecomte, born in France (possibly in Baynes, Calvados) about 1839. He disappears from the French Census    records after 1876  but I have not been able to find a death for him in the French records. In 1881 his widow and son were living in Jersey so I am wondering if he possibly died there. Any help would be much appreciated.

Cork / Cork Marriage
« on: Saturday 25 August 12 14:43 BST (UK)  »
I have just managed to find some details of my great-grandparents marriage on Ancestry.
They are Edward Cocks (Should be Cox) and Ellen Northridge. They were married between Jan and March 1884 in Skibbereen, Cork.  Can anyone tell me if these are enough details to get a marriage certificate for them and how I would go about this? Thanks.

Hello again.  Have just realised you are the same person who looked up the other marriage for me!  Thanks.

Thank you so much for your reply. It was very kind of you to take the trouble to look it up for me.  I am really pleased to have solved the mystery and finally know who my great-great-grandparents were and where they came from.  Not sure I will ever trace any further back as I have no idea how to research family history in France, but it is great to have this much info.  Thanks again.

I am trying to find some information about my great-great-grandmother.  She married John Thomas Jeune in Jersey in about 1889.  Her name was Victoire Francaise but I am uncertain about her surname.  She already had a son aged about 20 but I am not sure if she was ever married to the father so this may or may not be a second marriage!  Her surname may be Lecomte or Le Conte or she may have gone by her maiden name which is unknown to me.  I am hoping her marriage certificate to John Jeune will sort out this confusion.  I would be very greatful for any help with this.  Thanks
