As well as that, the Great Fire of 1877 in St. John destroyed many records.
I think they can be used interchangeably. Often Hanora/Honora is shortened to ‘Nora’ but I have seen Ann/Annie and Hanora.Thank you I agree Clerk is unusual but I have seen records where people give different occupations other than their correct one
The ‘clerk’ seems unusual,though.
Perhaps this marriage but John O’Leary is a Clerk&I had seen this marriage but discounted it as Brides name given as Hanora Hallahan & on childrens births it states Anne & also Census her name is recorded as Anne Leary. Im not aware of the connection between the names of Hanora & Anne so a bit confusing. Thank you
