Hello Rachel,Havnt been on for a while.John Buzzards wife is Kitty (Catherine) Williams.born Cowley,Oxfordshire.1778.Baptised as Kitty. She had at least 2 sisters.

Have also found out that Ann Coldrick/Couldrick who became Ann Buzzard died in child birth,The baby lived for a further 8 months.

Also John and Catherine had at least 4 other children,it looks like they all died at a very young age.

Hope you are well,Lawrence Phillips,London,

He enlisted at the age of 24 in Skewsby Yorkshire...Surname spelt Suggett.
Invalided out of the army in May 1814,due to accidental injury of leg.He would have served in Spain against the forces of Napoleon.
He is described as 5ft 5inches,black hair and hazle eyes, with a brown complexion.
If you write to the Archivist for the Scots Guards at Birdcage  Walk, giving these details, they should be able to give you more info.
also, bare with me,i will find out what i can, over the nxt few months

Just to give you an idea,I got home from TNA yesterday and the soldiers that I found in the 1st Foot Guards do not show  up on the Napoleonic search resources.Which is the case with your chap.
This to me shows that it  is worth a hands on search at TNA.
So please be patient and hopefully in the next few weeks,I will have an answer.
It does take a long time to search, about 5 hours for one year of records, but I will give it my best shot,as it is something I love doing.
Lawrence.
PS Portsoken (mispelling) is a street that i used to drive through every day, sadly, all modern city buildings these days.It is just East of Fenchurch Street station, near the Minories, and im guessing a pretty rough place in its day.

Hello Jenny,I am researching the Foot Guards at the moment,at TNA.I will have a look for you  on my next visit, although I can not find any records for the gentleman atm.
Portsoken Street is just north of the Tower of London,so he may of been based there
It will be end of March before I can give you any information.
