The Common Room / Re: What are the less obvious ways to find a birthdate?

I was able to rule out two Robert Symonds both born in Fakenham 1760 and both died as children. I have been unable so far to make any link with Necton Robert.

He had both a doctor and a solicitor and I have their names, it would appear that Mole catching paid well.

Yes, I have the actual date for Necton Robert, but only the calculated (from the headstone) birth year for West Lexham Robert, this is where I wondered maybe school, doctor's, solicitor's etc. records may show a recorded birth date.

I know his age, it's the actual birthday I want to confirm, then I could match it (or not) to the Necton Robert to see if they connect.

He was a Molecatcher.

I'm trying to link two Robert Symonds, one born in Necton 1760 as stated in Parish Records and one buried in West Lexham in 1826 with an age the works out as the birth year 1760.

If I can find the birthday of the Lexham Robert I could see if it matches that of Necton Robert and I could then be reasonable safe to assume that they were one and the same.

I've got a copy of WL Robert's will but no birthdate on that (oh and an address would be nice), so anyone got any ideas where else a birthdate could appear?

Thanks

Terry

Norfolk Lookup Requests / Re: Elizabeth Reeve place of birth.
« on: Thursday 08 December 11 15:24 GMT (UK)  »
My 5x GGF Robert Symonds' daughter Mary married Thacker Reeve at West Lexham 27th December 1814 and they had John July 24th 1815 and Mary May 26th 1816, Robert December 15th 1817 and John February 3rd 1822.

Robert Married Jane and they had William Nov 18 1846, Mary Jane, Apr 16 1848, George Jan 15 1856 and Maria Mar 11 1858 and this family appears in both 1851 and 1871 census for West Lexham

May be of some help

Norfolk / Re: Symonds Norfolk research question
« on: Friday 02 December 11 10:38 GMT (UK)  »
I've now started looking at Shipdham for the first time, trying to track down the earlier connections to the Letton end of the Symonds, using Family Search and in the 1558-1804 Births, Marriages and Burials, on the very first page I spied a Simonds. My schoolboy latin enabled me to spot son and daughter, but the rest is a bit vague and also on image 155 of 253 a few lines up from the 1634 heading there's another Simonds; but in both cases I can't fathom the christian names - anyone got a clue?

thanks Terry

I'm going to have to concentrate on this one and give it the time it deserves.

Again a supposition, if it's 76, then it could be Necton Robert's father, which would have made him 31 at marriage. ?

If I could ask an open favour, om the LDS site under Necton Burials 1722-1812 image 23 of 25, under 1803 what do you think the age of Robert Symonds is?

I think 96 or 76 - opinions please.

Thanks
