Hi Michelle, Just my view of the date which I believe would be around 1913/1914, any variation down to  1909, and hope this makes the connection you want.
Everybody has done a great job with the photo and what a finale, so a very well done again.
     Cheers. Long Tom

Cheshire / Re: Bowker family Lookup in 1911 census

Hi Dinkey.     A few late comments!
I too tried to find them in 1911, but like everybody had no success.      I noted the observations that the family certainly moved around, which as a retired Builder I would expect that of Richard as a Bricklayers Labourer, who has to follow the work.    He cannot jump in a car and go 5,10 miles or so every day, and as the Labourer he is expected to set the job up for the Bricklayers at day start, scaffolding, bricks, mortar etc in place.
The wide range of Birth locations obviously suggests the family are with him, but any short duration jobs make it hard to get  settled accommodation, hence adding to the difficulty of being on the 1911 Census.
They will be there but could be anywhere I am afraid.
    Cheers.

The Stay Safe Board / Re: Manchester Library's
« on: Monday 17 August 20 08:51 BST (UK)  »
My Apologies for being a little late coming back, but many thanks to you heywood and Crumblie, for your references, with details for both Central/Withington.
I hadn't perhaps fully appreciated the Logistics of the current service, but the Tel No's confirmation will enable a booking, as I had thought  there was nobody there when I rang.
Thanks again, and stay safe ! :)

The Stay Safe Board / Manchester Library's

Good Morning,
Being a few thousand miles away, can you please tell me what the  Status is with the Manchester Library's, both Central and I assume Withington has one.      Are they open for some services, in particular, Electoral Roll search, either in person with strict control, or a staff search.
Many thanks. :)

Dublin / Potential Dublin Marriage 1963
« on: Friday 05 June 20 03:19 BST (UK)  »
Hi to the Forum !
I am having a problem finding a known 1963 Marriage, which I am assuming was in Dublin because the person was a Nurse or Midwife in that location, be it the City or it's local area.   There are two possible Surnames,   1. Mary T Murray, her Maiden name or 2. Mary T Lee, her first marriage Surname.
She passed away in 1979, and I have not been able to find a marriage via findmypast for some reason on either name.
I am assuming that the 1958 date that I have read about for Ireland records, may limit any access.
I would appreciate any confirmation of this, or a pointing in the right direction to search further.
Many thanks for any advice.   Cheers.

I come at it from a different thought in which it is Ena on the bike photo text, and much later is actually Ena in the chocolate factory.   If I had bought a brand new bike [bit of money there] I would take it first to see my intended, and give her a ride, with Ena taking the photo first.
Presumably  Ena was his wife in the second one, and agreeing the handwriting is the same, suggests to me it was him just documenting the photo's at a much later date.    During a 'Cuppa' chat of family photo's she was relaying to him what her job entailed in the factory.

I agree with Jim that the 1924 date and her at 25 is on the money.    Good photo with the clean up, and I also agree she doesn't look too old, a lovely photo.     In the second photo, the little girl likewise looks the age of two in 1931, Fathers little girl, and a sad passing.
Very difficult to make out the background hence park location, but I remember quite a few parks on that long street, with hotels behind.
I hope I am not being too inquisitive, but was your Grandfather in the Hotel Trade, thinking with the above, he might have been taking a break in a park opposite the Hotel.    If so he probably had accommodation provided, but obviously pure speculation.

Good find Jool, and Wow that didn't take long to be trained, posted, and injured so close to the end.   This obviously suggests the photo was taken just before shipping out, or after some hospital time and leave before discharge, subject to his injury's or staying in service for a while.
I agree a very interesting post !
