This looks to be either birth or christening details for the Peter you mention:

PETER YOUNG
Parents JAMES YOUNG/ALLISON THOMSON
07/09/1828
734 30 / 43
Cranshaws, Berwickshire

With mother's maiden name showing as Thomson on Peter's death registration, this looks a likely entry for Peter.

Five other entries for possible siblings with these parents showing in the Old Parish Registers on SP.

Agnes's death in 1907 it seems.

From the National Probate Index (Calendar of Confirmations and Inventories), 1876-1936, it shows:

Name Agnes Lugton Young
Death Date 19 Apr 1907
Death Place Duns
Confirmation Date 26 Aug 1907
Confirmation Place Duns, Scotland

Her son, James Young living at Teviot Cottage, Duns is named as the executor to her will.

When did Agnes Lugton die?

There are two deaths showing on www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk

AGNES YOUNG
Age 60
Mother's maiden name GILBURN
1897
727 / 14
Ayton, Berwickshire

or

AGNES YOUNG
Age 77
Mother's maiden name PURVES
1907
735 / 17
Duns, Berwickshire

Probably best to view his death registration to confirm details on SP.

Have you viewed his death registration to check what it says about his parents?

Mother's maiden name THOMSON

Duns, Berwickshire

Carol, when searching for the surname, this one will have variants in spelling for sure.

Might be worth searching for it as H*ws*n. I have seen the following variants: Hewson, Howson, Howston, Howstown etc....

There certainly was a problem up to yesterday with that link taking you to another couple's marriage.

I did report the problem yesterday on site. Blown away if it has been corrected that quickly!
