Hi Cathryn,
I have been speaking to George's son and they would like you to e-mail direct. The address is (*) as they are unsure as to your father's name.

Hi Cathryn,
Thank you for your message. I am only helping the family to research and will pass your message on to my friends, one of George's sons and his wife. Have you any idea why the family left Belle Settle Farm in Mickleton all those years ago?

Thank you for your replies. It is after 1935 I am hoping to find her but have drawn a complete blank so far, even with GRONI. Just thought that a new member might have their memory jogged. Have tried to contact Genes members before but o no avail.
Thanks, Joyce

Antrim / Ida May Gamble/Dunn

Hello, This is a retry as it is a long time since my first attempt and I am hoping that new members may be able to help.
I am looking for any info on Ida May Dunn, b. Belfast 1904 and who married Andrew Cecil Dunn in 1929. Marriage possibly did not last. Ida had daughter in 1935 and gave her up for adoption. Daughter was brought to England, is now 77 and in ill health  and would love to know any details as to what happened to her mother. GRONI have no details on remarriage or death. Brick wall is getting higher. Can anyone help, please?
Regards,
Joyce

Hi,
The occupant of Belle Settle Farm was William Raine, b. 1811, and his wife, Jane. William was still there in 1881 census. He was a joiner/farmer and he had a son (amongst others), Thomas, b. 1832 who married Elizabeth Raine, b.1833. I think they moved to Eggleston. They had a son, Samuel, b. 1865 who in turn had a son George Louis who was born in Annfield Plain and is the late father of a friend of mine. Sorry if the info is a bit lacking but I have passed all my findings on to the family. William lived at Belle Settle for quite some time. If you find anything of interest about the family we would love to hear. We had a look at Mickleton Churchyard a couple of weeks ago but were not sure if anyone there was of this part of the family. Some had moved to Eggleston as I said.
Cheers, Joyce

Hi,
I am a close friend of George Raine's son and his wife. I am helping to research the family tree and have this week been to Mickleton to look at Belle Settle Farm. Do you have any knowledge on what the dispute was over at the farm?
Regards,
Joyce

Thank you.
We have even resorted recently to advertising in the personal column in the Belfast Telegraph for any relatives of Ida Gamble or her sister Alice but no replies. Back to the drawing board I'm afraid.
