Oh Lord - thanks everyone - old age is setting in quickly - I meant William married Lucy - not Paul.  I can't seem to find any other info on Lucy.......no baptism or birth records.  Is it still possible to find records for those days or did they not keep them.

Hello,
I'm still trecking backwards so.... does anyone have a Lucy or Lucie Hanford or Haniford in their family tree?  Born approx 1678 or thereabouts.
She married Paul Brown in 1698 and they had a son Paul who was born and died 9.03.1701.  They later had another son, also called Paul born 24.01.1713.
Thanks

I wonder if anyone has any information on the Langley Mill United Cricket Club.  I have some medals of my grandfather Horace Leatherland from the LMUCC dated 1898 and 1904.  He was a bowler.   I have looked through all the photos I have of him and there isn't one that shows him in cricket whites.  Does anyone have any photos of the team from those days?
Thanks

Hi Trish,
Yes, I'm using the soundex option - although I don't know what that is.  I'll keep trying.

Hi,
Thanks everyone for all the great info.  You know, I've been on Freereg but EVERYTHING I've searched has come back with "no matches found for this query"  I'm obviously doing something wrong because other people find this a useful tool.  Any ideas?"

Hi again,
Carol, I noticed on the list of children for Rachel and Paul Brown, there are two named Paul.  One born 19.05.1744 and the other 08.05.1750.  Did the first one die, do you think or is it a mistake somewhere along the line?

Carol,
You are a star - thank you so much.  I was in the process of posting a message to admit that yes, the birthdates of Paul & Rachel were incorrect.  They had been 'guesstimated' - oops!
Can I ask you where you are finding all this information?  I don't live in the UK so can't go and look through parish records or graveyards etc.  Much as I would like to.
Thanks again.
V:)
