The family are not in Cheshire in 1851 they are in Bangor;

The census shows;

Ellin Price 38 married lodger Washer women born Bangor
William Price  aged 9 born Bangor
Edward price aged 4 born Birkenhead

Father, William Price is missing.

In 1861 Ellin and Edward are still in Bangor but father and brother are missing.

So could Edward have been born elsewhere?
If so why does census say birth Birkenhead?

Thanks for the help :)

Thanks for the help

The baptism is shown in the parish records as June 14th 1846, so I thought that the birth would have been registered in that quarter.

I requested the only Edward Price birth for that quarter BIR/10/76 apparently its not the right one - parents are different

I saw the two births for the Dec quarter but would have thought that they were too late.

Maybe the birth wasn't registered :(

If anybody could offer any guidance on this i would be grateful.

I have the parish record entry it shows;

Baptisms solemnized in the parish of Birkenhead in the county of Cheshire in the year of 1846

Entry 356
Edward son of William and Ellin price, fathers occupation plasterer, abode Birkenhead

There is only one birth registered in that quarter.
I then sent for the certificate and have had my cheque returned, as the parents names are totally different!
They also tell me there is one birth registered in that quarter for Edward Price.
I am puzzled - how can i find his birth certificate?

Thanks

Thanks for that, I saw that one on FindMyPast, also there is only one other Edward Price listed on there.

I will try and research the SS Marie to see if that get me anywhere :)
Thanks

Lancashire / Death at sea?
« on: Sunday 06 May 12 22:19 BST (UK)  »
I am looking for help/guidance on the death of a Liverpool ancestor;
EDWARD PRICE
Family members have said he died at sea due to shipwreck.

He is alive on the 1891 census, living with his wife Catherine and two children Edward and Ellen in Liverpool.
Catherine remarries in 1898.
I have been unable to find his birth as his age has varied by a couple of years on the different censuses. His age on this census would mean he would have been born 1846.

Is there another way to find his death apart from trawling the Maritime deaths.

Any help guidance would be great, this has baffled me for years.

Thanks

Armed Forces / Re: John HARDING - 1st Devon Militia
« on: Monday 09 January 12 23:47 GMT (UK)  »
Thanks for your help.

I have seen other variations on the spelling of HARDING, such as HARDEN, HARDIN, HARDEN but not in this case, although given how names were mistranscribed it could be a distinct possibility.

He was serving at the time of marriage in 1798 and his second child was born in Exeter in 1807 which I think is the base for the Devon Militia so perhaps he was still serving in 1807.

He was from Harpford, his other children were born there. His wife Charity died in Harpford in 1825. I don't really know anything else about him.

Thanks again

If anybody has time and also access to the Plymouth St Andrew marriages for 1798 please could they check an entry for me?

I am looking for information on the marriage of JOHN HARDING and CHARITY PARTRIDGE.

I have the print out from the DFHS and this shows me that the marriage took place on 3rd Jan 1798 but it doesn't include the additional notes that the DFHS say are attached to the record.

So if there is some wonderful person with time to spare to look at what the extra information is I would be most grateful.

Many thanks
