Maria , James and there son John Brophy are all burued in the same grave in Westrybury Cemetery
I dont have certifates for these events. I did go to Tasmania about 11years ago and found the entries on records in Launceston library.
Records in Tasmania before 1900 only give basic information.
I sent for my fathers birth certificate It had
Surname Wallace
Christian James Claude
Date 4 May 1886
Beaconsfield
Male
Father Wallace
James
 Labourer
Mother Amy Ann Wallace nee Purton

It doesnt mention his 3 elder sisters
or where or when the parents were married.
so i didnt bother getting any more

I will now send for James Wallaces death certificate we may be lucky it may list parents
I will let you know when i receive this

Hi
I dont know if your James Wallace is the same one as I am looking for.

My James was supposed to be born about 1828 in Londonderry Northern Ireland.
He joined the british army and fought in the Maori Wars in New Zealand.
After his discharge from the army he travelled to Tasmania where he married  a Maria Brophy had 5 children
Maria died 1880 and he remarried a widow named Mary Smith nee Welsh.
They died within 3 weeks of each other in 1999 at Westbury Tasmania.

I know his Wallace grandparents lived at a place called Moneyreigh in county Down

Does this fit in with the James you are search

regards

Elizabeth Montgomery nee Wallace
