Oxfordshire / Baptism of Elizabeth Stone - possibly Glympton
« on: Saturday 15 March 25 16:05 GMT (UK)  »
Looking for the baptism of Elizabeth Stone and believe it will be in Glympton around 1836. Mother Jane Stone. As per my previous post, Jane married Robert Simons in Glympton on 6th Feb 1837 but I now think Elizabeth may have been born before their marriage and may have been baptised in her mother's maiden name. All later children born from the marriage were baptised in Kiddington but I have been unable to locate Elizabeth's baptism and believe it may have been in the place of her parents' marriage. Sadly, Glympton baptisms after 1812 are not on Ancestry.
Elizabeth is my 2xgreat grandmother.
Thanks

Thank you, some very interesting comments. I hadn't thought of the error in the register. This would make sense as I also can't find Mary Ann's baptism. It would also explain why she is not in the GRO (I had her birth as 1838 but April 1837 would be before registration)
I hadn't noticed Mary West as a witness to the marriage of John and Sarah Ann Beadle. Thank you!

Essex / Sarah Ann Clark baptised Heybridge 1836 1837
« on: Saturday 14 December 24 18:09 GMT (UK)  »
HI,
I have a query regarding the baptism of a daughter of John Clark and his wife Sarah Ann in Heybridge.
There appear to be two entries as below:

Sarah Ann Beadle Clark bn 20 Apr 1836 bap 8 May 1836
Sarah Ann West Clark bn 21 Apr 1837 bap 29 Oct 1837

both appear to have the same parents.
Can someone who can see the original entries please let me know if this is the case.
I can find no burial for the first Sarah Ann Clark.
I was wondering if the second entry is an admission to the church after a private baptism and the date of birth is a year (and a day!) out?
Any additional information from the entries in the register would be helpful.
Thanks for reading.

Essex / Marriage of John Tatum & Sarah Crabb Fairstead 1730

John Tatum/Tatum/Tathum married Sarah Crabb in Fairstead in 1730.
Could anyone who has access to the original parish register of Fairstead tell me if John was a widower, please?

Thanks for your help, it is much appreciated

Hi Carole,
I believe she was born in Kiddington as all census records confirm this but as there is no baptism for her in Kiddington I wondered if she was baptised in Glympton where her parents were married. May just be an omission in the Kiddington register or I have overlooked it.
Thanks for taking the time to look and reply

Hi
Looking for the baptism of Elizabeth Simons (or variations of name) and believe it will be in Glympton either 1837 or 1838. Parents Robert Simons and Jane nee Stone who were married in Glympton on 6th Feb 1837. All later children were baptised in Kiddington but I have been unable to locate Elizabeth's baptism and believe it may have been in the place of her parents' marriage. Sadly, Glympton baptisms after 1812 are not on Ancestry.
Elizabeth is my 2xgreat grandmother.
Thanks
