At the moment I have no more information on John's parents. I really wanted confirmation of them from his death certificate. I have seen a possible death cert but parent's names were unknown by the person who recorded the death and was not a family member. Have you found any members of the familly leaving Scotland?

I think Marry's husband died in Ireland. In one census Mary Little was staying with John Brown recordef as his mother in law.

I agree that the marriage certificate can lead to doubts. Over the years I have done a lot of research into this line and others and not every certificate is 'correct'. In this case I am willing to accept it is my Jane going on other information which backs it up -eg census, certificates, names linked with the family etc. A problem with the certificate may be due to the Irish
accent with the registrar recording what he heard. Just a thought.
Intersted to hear that you haven't found John either. I think he and his family along with some others may have left the country so that is what I am going
to look at next

I have Jane born 1828 in Tyrone. Her parents were William Ferguson and Mary Lambie. I believe the certificate you have is her marriage to John Brown. I have been unable to find out what happened to John after 1871. Have you had any success.

Thank you for having another look for me.  As I am fortunate to have Mary's death certificate to confirm her date of death, I can only guess that she is buried in Holytown Cemetery.  It is disappointing that there are no records.  You have been a big help to me.

Thanks for checking for me.  I was going to go to the cemetery but as I didn't expect there would be a stone, I hoped the lair book would give me the information I am looking for. I have already checked the stones at Holytown cemetery without success and there isn't a lair book for that time.  I guess I may never know.

Well done with the job that you are doing!

I would be very grateful if you could check if there is a burial record for Mary Lambie/Ferguson/Little who died 7 January 1869.

Many thanks.
