Hi gocarlton

I've also followed that NBI lead and certificate - straight to a dead end!  Definitely not our Louisa (Poll) Aldous :(

Have just had contact from another descendant of Louisa & Thomas and will update forum if we find anything new.

Good hunting everyone!

Jules

Hi Steve

Thanks the information on John Garrard and especially for replying to my enquiry so quickly!  What does "CR" stand for - I haven't seen that one before.  Anyway thanks again for helping me with my brick wall.  I'm sure John Garrard has more surprises in store for me yet  :D

Regards
Julie

Hi,
Can anyone help me?

I'm trying to find the Suffolk Assizes record for my ancestor John Garrard who was convicted at Suffolk Assizes for a term of life on 24 March 1813.

He was transported to Australia on the General Hewitt;  departed England on 26 August 1813 and arrived in New South Wales on 7 February 1814.

All the convict papers I've found so far in Australia make no mention of the crime he received the life sentence for.

Is there anywhere online that I can find the trial transcripts or is anyone able to do lookups for this sort of thing?  Any help would be greatly appreciated

Thank you taking the time to read my post :)

Jules

Hi fenifur & others

I've just come across your post re Louisa Poll.  I am descended from Louisa and Thomas Aldous and keep coming up against brick walls when trying to trace Louisa - I'd also be interested in finding out if Louisa or Issa or Elizabeth are related!

Hi chilterngirl and annette, I'm also descendant of Ellen Kirk and Joseph Mason through their daughter Ellen Mason who married Thomas Dunn and subsequently moved to Tas.

I was in Chiltern today and found your posts about Ellen Kirk and Joseph Mason back in 2009 and am hoping you may still be on line!!

Also chilterngirl: I'm local to Wodonga and would be interested in catching up and exchanging information if you're interested?
