Hello Roman
That's interesting information. Do you know how I could find out more information, especially pre-1940? Happy New Year.
Jean
My mum was born there in 1930. I'd love to find more information as well.

And willing to do a favor?  I'd love to have  three certificates looked up.  My mother was born in 1930 and was adopted shortly after. She found out many years later that she was adopted and now has her birth certficate with her mother's name.

She recently passed away and I'm curious about her family.  I live in the US and therefore this research can be hard to do. Thanks to a kind RootsChat member, I now have the natural mother's birth/marriage/death cert entries on Scotlands People, all outside of the period where they can be viewed on line.

It is these three entries I would appreciate if someone could have a look at the details for me. I don't want to put the details on line, so, if someone can help, please send me a personal message for further details. Really would appreciate whatever anyone can find further.

Thanks again.

Wow that's amazing info!  I don't know if my mom has her actual birth certificate or not.  I'll have to ask her and see.

My mother was born Oct 28, 1930 on St Vincent St at a home for unwed mothers.  She thinks her mother was 17 when she was born, her mother's name was Annie Brown Miller McPhee.  She has no other information about her mother.  Mom's not in the greatest of health and has finally decided she'd like to find out info on her biological family.  If anyone has any suggestions we'd greatly appreciate it.
