Hi barahir33,  I have William's parents as Samuel William Henshaw m Jane Davis in 1798.  I too am a direct descendent of William so hello distant cousin!  I have still not identified William's place of birth but now I've moved back to Leicester I might have more time to research this.  So you very helpful guys in Loughborough and Leicester, claim the pint I owe you!  ::)

So here we are a few years down the line and I have run another search hoping that the additional records on-line might throw up an answer.  The only other bit of info I have picked up is a death registration in 1871 at Kingston on Hull.  The birth year is correct so it looks like I'll have to get hold of the death certificate and hope for more clues....

I have managed to hang on to family photo's etc of a now deceased family friend who has no relatives in the UK.  I am now trying to find descendents of Ellen Catterall Shorrock and Mark Eccles from Blackburn, Lancashire.  Ellen came back to the UK in 1949 leaving behind her husband Mark and also their grown son Albert.  I know Mark Eccles died in 1961 but have no information regarding Albert (born Blackburn in 1925) or his descendents.

Any help would be very gratefully received

Thanks for your very prompt reply Allan, just a coincidence I think (hope) but the solicitor has just phoned to confirm the will states her ashes are to be scattered in a garden of remembrance, so this is now a very redundant query!

A close family friend has recently died who has no living relatives.  We have been unable to trace if, when her mother Ellen Catterall Eccles passed away in 1983 in Blackpool, any cemetery plot was purchased in which to inter Ellen's remains or ashes.  We feel that her daughter should be there with her if such a plot exists.  Please, as a matter of urgency, is anyone able to check records as recent as 1983 for Ellen Catterall Eccles final resting place?  We live the other end of the country so it's not possible to get to the area to instigate a search and I've drawn a blank on-line.
