Travelling People / possible romanii/irish traveller connections

i am trying to find my traveller past i have been told i am of romanii decent but i can find no proof as i have no documentation to help me out,Colquhoun is my paternal name and my maternal name is McFarlane.Any help would be much appreciated.I am born and bred in Glasgow,Scotland and i believe my mothers family originated in CO,Mayo Ireland.
