Hi Uncle H,
did you read the reply I sent you? I believe there is a strong possibility we have the same ancestors based on the information you supplied on Bartholomew Kelly.

Hi Michael,
If you're going to T&W archives I can tell you the St.Michael's registers are indexed. I saw the originals but have not been back since the registers were microfilmed.

Godfrey

How did you know she married at St.Michael's RC?

Hi, I wrote an article on the Clonmany evictions of 1881-1883, was entitled "Irish Newspapers : Sources for Irish Genealogy and History" and published in the journal of the Northumberland & Durham Family History Society a couple of years ago.
There were many tenants mentioned by name and their locations. Most of the information I got from the 'Freeman's Journal' which can be accessed for free online.

I've never heard of the place but I will consult my very detailed maps of Clonmany which I copied while researching in Dublin.

I've just read your email ref. St.Michael's RC registers, Newcastle.
I'm pleased to tell you that these registers have now been deposited at Tyne & Wear Archives and can be viewed on microfilm.
