Northamptonshire / Re: EALES families

Hi, I'm from the Eales side from Green's Norton and Towcester.

Far too  Williams, James's, John's etc who all went on to marry Mary's and Elizabeth's.  The fact that my grandfather was adopted out doesn't help.

I've done a DNA test and it is logged with Ancestry, My Heritage and Gedmatch if that helps anyone.

My connection goes Francis Hugo Pook < Owen Eales and Millicent Seal < George Eales and Sarah Howes < Stephen Eales and Mary Wright< Stephen Eales and Esther

James Gibson b 1838 is my gt gt gt grandfther.
He died in Levin, New Zealand in 1895.
I don't have as much info on him as I would like but feel free to contact me. I have done a DNA test so potentially some in this thread have already matched to me.

My main tree on Ancestry is the Pook/Forsyth/Eales/Roach Family Tree.

Thanks for the extra leads.  Gives me some more to go on. Doesn't sound like Fanny was up for mother of the year.

Cheers Rosie.  That was swift!.  The info you found matches what I have found so that is good and suggests I am on the right track.  Will get a copy of the birth cert from England and see if that confirms my belief that it is Pallett not Howard that is Sarah's mother.

Hi, I'm a new poster who is a bit stuck.  Anyone got a spare pair of eyes?
I'm looking for parents/siblings of my gt gt g/m Sarah Marskell who married Charles Thomas Gibson in New Zealand in1882 and lived here till their death.  The wedding cert says she was born in London 1861 to William Marskell and Fanny Howard.
I can't find a Fanny Howard married to William Marskell.
I can find Hannah/Hanah (aka Fanny) Pallett/Pellett  (2nd quarter of 1855 London Vol 1A Page 50) who married William Marskell.

I can find Kensington, London baptism records for children of William and Fanny Marskell listed as Elizabeth (1856), Fanny (1857), William Samuel (1863) and Sarah(1861). Timing of the marriage and births of the kids seem right.  How would I find out if Fanny Pallet/Fanny Howard are the same person. Sarah and her female siblings were in and out of the workhouse a fair bit if that helps with process of elimination.

I have family history on the Spicer,s including the Asher Spicer family, Asher was my GG Grandfathers son ! who are the 2 people in the photo ? I have gone back to 1593. Asher was 1 of 7 children to Joseph Spicer born Hazelbury Bryan, Dorset in 1799, Asher born 1835. would love to hear from you. or anybody wanting Spicer family history Buckland Newton - Hazelbury Bryan, Dorset.

I'd be grateful for any info on my GGGGG Grandmother Rebecca Spicer born 1761 in Buckland Newton or her husband John Pook
She married by GGGGG Grandfather John Pook on 6 May 1784 in Dorset.  He was a shipwright , from Poole I believe.  Rebecca died in 1838.
Rebecca's  parents were John Spicer and Mary.
Rebecca and John's son William is from my line.  His first wife was Miria Hyde.
I'm new to genealogy and apart from having names and dates I'm stuck.

My first ever post on Roots Chat. Hopefully I'm not inadvertantly breaking any rules.

I'm also hunting down the Pook's.  Ted Pook was my great grandfather.  Your John Pook was from his second family. I have an old family tree, not complete and over 30 years old.

I have gone back as far as John Pook and Rebecca Spicer  in Dorset in 1786 but am really  stuck on them.....and a fair few blanks in between
