Prynhawn Da

I am still trying to find more information about this couple buried at Festiniog.
Is there a Roots Chatter residing in the area who could assist me

Help would be much appreciated

Margaret Roberts aged 37  years of Pant Llwyd Festiniog was buried at Festiniog on  9.10.1843 and her husband on 14.3.1848 aged 41 years leaving a young family. I believe it was a church graveyard.

Is it possible that a memorial was placed on their grave?

I hope a roots chatter will be able to help me

Diolch yn fawr John Ashley

Hello Owen
That was a surprise - in Japan - it is a long way from Wales

I have now examined all the information that you kindly made available and it confirms and adds to my knowledge. - particularly the births of the children of John and Margaret Evans.I was fascinated to read your Wikitree and will be looking further at that.  I notice that Thomas Harris was staying with them at the time of 1871 census and described as 61 Land Owner from Halesowen - details are on Genuki Wales and are by Doreen and John Jones who are great correspondents living in Canada.I am sure yuu are familiar with this site.

I would like to send you a copy of my notes which follow Zecharia onwards to Megan born 1932 in Dolgellau. I also have some information about Sarah Hughes.
I either need your E mail address or postal address.

So what are you doing in Okinawa ? Take care - Megan and John.

Helo Carole

I was so excited this morning that I did not notice that you were a separate correspondent from David

You will have seen my response and I would be delighted if you can assist further.

My apologies   John Ashley

Bore da - I was so pleased to have such a prompt reply to my query

The information you give confirms my research but I do not have any grave numbers. Are these available as they would show whether they are buried in the same grave  I would then have confirmation that they were man and wife.

I have traced the family on from there to the present day Your further assistance will be much appreciated. John Ashley in Caerphilly.

An ancestor of my wife was buried at Festiniog - Her name was Margaret Roberts and she was only 37 when she died and was buried in 1843 leaving a young family

The only burial found for her husband was William Roberts aged 41 of Tanygrisau at Festiniog  in 1848.
Dates ages and location all fit but were they buried in the same grave.I cannot be certain until I can show this   It would be so helpful if a Roots Chatter has details of any memorial or register which would confirm.  Many thanks  John Ashley

Hello W R Jones - Many thanks for your confirmation that the MI's for Corwen are not yet available. We were previously in touch many moons ago on another matter.
