The lovely Victor gave me Glos Archives burial records:
James GWYNN of Stonehouse buried October 24th, 1942, aged 18 years.
(GA) P316 IN 1/40, St Cyr, Stonehouse, Glos GL10 3QP

Can anybody look for the grave for me at St. Cyr's Parish Church? I have been told that most burials in 1942 were in the detached section of the churchyard, to the right of the path as you go up from the entrance. I believe they are in date order so if James can't be seen perhaps his neighbour can.

I hope someone can have a look for me and tell me what is there!

Thank you for your time.

Kent Lookup Requests / The Sevenoaks Board of Guardians look up please
« on: Tuesday 26 March 13 11:47 GMT (UK)  »
Hello,
Does anybody go to The Kent History & Library Center? Are you able to look up The Sevenoaks Board of Guardians Records? My friend and I require a look up for 2 illegitimate children.

I have been helping my friend build a family tree. On my friends (misplaced) fathers birth Certificate it had shown: Mother Evangeline Cross (unmarried) and father (unknown). The birth in question is
Thomas George Kimber Cross who was born on 16 Nov 1906 in Sevenoaks, Kent.

My friend has misplaced the birth certificate but wonders if the fathers details will be listed in The Sevenoaks Board of Guardians Records? The mother and 2 children are shown staying at Sevenoaks, Union Work house, Sundridge Near Sevenoaks, Kent, during 1911 census.

Thomas' sister Harriet Elizabeth Kimber Cross was born 11 Jul 1909, in Sevenoaks, Kent.  It is the same for her birth certificate.

Would anybody be able to look up these 2 people to see if there is any mention of the father which could be at a guess Thomas George Kimber. (No idea of age, where from or occupation.)

It would be nice to find out something about him.

Thank you for your time.

I phoned  Gloucester City Council for Gloucestershire burials & Cremations and they checked Tredworth Road Cemetery & Coney Hill Cemetery - James Gwynn not found.

They suggested I should call Gloucestershire Family History Society for help.
I spoke to a lovely lady from their and she said that because he died in Eastington and lived nr Stonehouse, I should try the churches for Stroud. As there are no cemeteries covering his area.

Hello,
Gloucestershire is very far a way for me. Would you be able to do look ups for me?

I need help in finding a burial for Jame Gwynn who died on 21 Oct 1942 at The Infirmary Eastington, Gloucestershire, Aged 18 years old. His home address was 6 Woodcock Lane, Gloucestershire. His Occupation: General Labourer..

I have had help from a local Priest from the area and he has suggested St. Cyr's churchyard, in which case the details of the person, but not necessarily of the grave will be recorded in the Church burial registers.

There is also the possibility that a burial could have taken place at St. Michael and All Angels, Eastington or possibly at a non-conformist Church, the only one of which had a burial ground in Stonehouse was the Congregational Church in the High Street (now demolished).

Just to be able to locate his grave would give great relief to my aunt.

If you could help with this research you would be making a little old lady very happy.

If I am able to help you in anyway. Please let me know. I live in Dagenham, Essex. I often go to Newham, Havering & Barking & Dagenham Archives. If I can assist you in these areas please let me know.

Thank you for your time.

Hello,
Gloucestershire is very far a way for me. Does anybody live near Gloucestershire Archives that are willing to do a bit of research for free?

I need help in finding a burial for Jame Gwynn who died on 21 Oct 1942 at The Infirmary Eastington, Gloucestershire, Aged 18 years old. His home address was 6 Woodcock Lane, Gloucestershire. His Occupation: General Labourer..

I did write to the Cemeteries about 6 months ago asking for a free search, but never got a reply back. I assumed they are rigid on their genealogy policy. Gloucester City Council offers a genealogy service to search the burial & cremation registers. (Research is for cemeteries only) The cost £39.02. I don't have the money to do this.

Just to be able to locate his grave would give relief to my aunt.

If anyone could help with this research you would be making a little old lady very happy.

Thank you for your time.

Hi, Thank you for your messages.

Nobody lives at that address anymore. The house is being sold and the last occupier passed away in 2009.

I have sent messages to the neighbouring houses and it seems the Payne family and descendants have moved out of the area.

I was hoping someone could look up the address to findout who Colonel Payne was? As he was living with Elizabeth at the time my husbands father visited in 1965 and to confirm Herbert was missing from the address during 1957 and Elizabeth during 1985, and to see if any of their children had lived with them.

I just would like to check the details I have with the electoral rolls, to see that I have the right details. I would do this myself if I was able to go to Dublin.

I would be smiling for a week if I could findout what is listed in the Electoral Register.

Dublin / Dublin Library - Archive Electoral Help Needed: (Herbert & Elizabeth Payne)
« on: Tuesday 18 October 11 16:04 BST (UK)  »
Hi,
I would like to find out when my husbands family died or moved away.
In 1940 my husbands Grandparents Herbert & Elizabeth Payne were living at 2 Palmerston Place, Dublin (Inns Quay)

I know this, as this is the only year being shown on-line on dublinheritage.ie. It is also the same address listed for his mothers baptism.

I have managed to find out that Herbert & Elizabeth had 4 children: * b. 1932, * b. 1934, * b. 1935 & *. b. 1937.

The Payne Family were still there in 1965 when my Husbands' father went to visit the family. As a baby my husband was moved to Trinidad and was given up by his mother.

I was told Herbert Payne died 17 April 1957 & Elizabeth Payne died 11 July 1985. This information needs to be confirmed and to find out who else was living there?

I am trying to find out what happened to the family and if possible find them.
Can anybody help?
