Thanks for that Keyboard86  :) (stop encouraging me to abandon the decluttering...... ;) )

I'm relieved to know that this Selinah is "my" Selinah (Thank you Daz!!)
It's so easy to get carried away & then find you have totally the wrong person...that's usually when you see a flying laptop in this area  >:(

Thanks again (both) for all your help

Deb

Hi (Distant) Cuz Daz  ;D

How spooky! I has taken a break from the family tree "stuff" for a few months, & yesterday I visited some relatives who had dug out some old picture for me to look at.That sort of started me off again...& then TADA a message from you today!

It was really kind of you to give me a link to your tree, however it seems I also need a password.
I've been building my tree on ancestry website but I think I can only invite views by email (If you want to have a look message me your email addy...)
Hehe, I have a week off next week - idea is to declutter my house.I must NOT start tree building, or I'll need to sleep in my car through lack of space!  ;)

Take care

Thank you so much for the links & information Val !

I'll certainly check out the links - a couple I have done, the matrix one, & also the collectionscanada, but hadn't realised I could go further with that.

Incidentally,I have lovely memories of my granddad - a big bear (well not that big, but to me he was) with a full head of grey hair, & a wonderful greenhouse in his garden. If only i'd asked....  :)

Hi Gortonboy,

I couldn't use the first link , but I do have a copy of Granddads attestation & also I saw the wikipedia page. Many apologies, I should have explained that  ::) I'm struggling to a) find out when he went to Canada, but more importantly, where he was during WW1
Thank you, though, for looking into this for me  :)

Hi,
Only my 2nd post here & many apologies if it's in the wrong place  :-\ (got to say my first posting had a really quick & very helpful result)

My granddad Frederick William Carter was in the 119th Battalion of the CEF , but I have no idea how to find where he was "absorbed" to once reaching England. He had been born in Hertfordshire in the UK (1893) but moved to Canada a date I don't know. I know after WW1 he settled back in the UK & passed away in  1978.Any info about the 119th would be greatly appreciated

Thanks again  :) You're my hero

This is all dispelling a family myth but I'm happy to find the truth. Jeez though, don't you wish they kept with the same spelling/name etc they were given at birth  ;)

Thank you so much!!  :D
I'd been trying variations of the surname, but not first name  :-[
My journey continue ..... (& it's amazing how many coincedences happen in this family tree stuff!)

Hi,
Hope I'm doing this right!  :-\

I'm struggling to find any information about Selina Hutchings who according to a couple of census was born in Thornborough or Gt Horwood abt 1835 .I have information that she married Edward Marks (1836-1896) from Gt Horwood in 1856, but anything before this is I draw a blank.Selina & Edward are my great great grandparents & I'd love to find out more about Selina if anyone knows anything :)

Thanks in advance
