Wow!! Thanks...

Thats more than I'd ever thought I'd get, Thomas what a naughty lad!

To add to his story, he went back to Pontefract and by the 1901 Census had 'married' my great gran, well thats what they said on the form although no marriage cert can be traced yet,  they had 2  children (1 died within an month of being born).  By 1906  Thomas had disappeared and my great gran had married my great grandad and he brought up  Thomas' daughter as his own.

You have been very kind in helping, thank you again -  Jo

One Name Studies: A to G / Re: Bullivant family search

Hi

Just to let you know I am descended from the BULLEYMENTS of Lincolnshire,  this name has ofter been changed through different spellings eg missing out the y, or adding an i, but I did start to wonder if the BULLIVANT's were are part of this huge huge family.

Do you have many Ambrose Bullivant/Bulleyments in your trees? This seems a popular name to pass down to sons within the family.

My George Bulleyment b.Melton Ross 1862 married Mary Ogden and lived and worked on the Sandbeck Estate nr Maltby/Rossington. abt 1900 .

And just for interest: there is a Bullivant Road and Ambrose Avenue in Hatfield, Doncaster (side by side) - always wondered if there was a connection??

Hi,

Just for your information - my house in South Shields was built by Alexander & William Yellowley in 1885.  Alexander lived in our house for a while.  I researched the family a little bit and their grave is still in place at Westoe Cemetery.

Can't remember exactley where Jane fitted in, in the family  - but -
their father was a taxidermist and the museum in South Shields did have some of his works on display.

I would have loved to see the document  - just for the house history.

Jo

Hi,

Ff any one has access to the records of Saltley Reformatory School I would appreciate as much info as possible on my ancestor THOMAS BULLOCK.

Born 1880 in Castleford West Yorks, he appears on 1891 Census as scholar at Saltley R.S aged 11.

I would love to know what he went there for, he has always been a bit of a mystery.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.
