Hi, I have just found your post on J. W. F. R. Sladen. He is my great great grandfather. I traced our family back to his arrival in Scotland from India. My grandmother remembers that there could have been some scandal about his return from India. Something to do with a woman! He may have hooked up with servant from big house. Possibly wife Ellen?
