Hi Miranda
Try googling for Bongate Applepy map and you'll find it in the pub guide.

Have you seen this map?

Westmorland / Re: Brackenthwaite
« on: Friday 23 September 05 18:29 BST (UK)  »
Hi Miranda

I tried a search on the 1881 census discs for Brackenthwaite and Westmorland and there appeared to be two families with that address
John Lightburn 57 and William Little 41

The area is Appleby St Michael and the children of the LITTLE household were born at Bongate which is, I think, an area of Appleby.

There is a Brackenthwaite in Cumberland and the only reference I found to Bankend was someones birthplace in Cumberland.

Not sure if that helps :-\

« on: Tuesday 16 August 05 00:11 BST (UK)  »
Hi Simon
Think I've found him on the 1851 Warwickshire census at Headless Cross, Ipsley, Alcester
Richard Allcock lodg (head) w 46 Needle Filer Feckenham
Richard junr lodg 16 Needle Spitter Ipsley
Ann lodg 14 nursemaid Feckenham

Neighbours were named White and Haynes.

You'll find them in 1841 on Pickards Pink Pages in the Alcester/Ipsley area but  Jemima doesn't appear to be there.

On the IGI Richard Ralph married Mary Ann Cottrill at Ipsley on the 25th December 1849.

They are on the Warwickshire 1851 census. with daughter Ann aged 1.

Update: I think I've found him with his parents in 1841, it's on Pickards Pink Pages !841 census for Alcester/Ipsley.
