there is a church of ireland church in moyglare - sometimes catholic births were recorded in their records. Moyglare is closer to kilcock than maynooth, i'd also check out mulhussey . that area also has a church just on the meath side of the kilcock - i think its in kilcloon parish .

yeah thats could be it.  It wouldn't be precluded now however - thankfully the catholic church's teachings have changed over the years

Thanks for the help lads. Ill contact the library and see if they'll do a lookup for me as i'm in ireland.  His niece is very religious and is having a mass said for him, i'm going to look into having his name inscribed on the headstone or some marker put on the grave.

thanks for the help lads.  Your correct about the catholic church's attitude to suicide back then - thankfully times have changed.  There seems to have been several unrelated  people buried in this paupers grave over a very short time - this indicates to me it was on consecrated grounds - i doubt they weren't all suicides.  His niece is very religious and is having a mass said for him, i'm going to look into having his name inscribed on the headstone or some marker put on the grave.

thanks ian,
BS2A was the number given to me by the Diocesan Archivist. Martin Travis Mullaney was buried there on 18 February 1927.   He died nearly a year before on 28 May 1926  - it was suicide, due to shell shock his family think - poor bastard was still living the war in his head.  Noone claimed his body  - hence the delay. sad really

suicide as a result of shell shock unfortunately - not sure if the CWGC would accept that though

Does anyone know if Leeds Catholic cemetery has an online presence or is there anywhere that has a listing of the graves online.  I want some one to eyeball grave  BS2A - martin mullaney  and tell me the condition or if there is a headstone on it - i believe it to be unmarked but i want to confirm
