Thank you for your kindness.  Will check our notes on the possible children.  This was most gracious of you.

PS  A woman old enough to have been a mother in 1837, so born before 1820, I'd guess.  Almost certainly not literate.

I'm looking for one whose husband was Thomas, and born in Ireland, probably Limerick, possibly Croom (or Cromagh.)  Husband may or may not be in the household at this point, may have been transported to Australia.  Unsure how many children in the house; Does that narrow it enough? I'm flying pretty blind here.

Thanks for your kindness.

Place and year of death unknown but last reported in Scranton area before civil war, widower appears in Springfield Ohio in 1880.  Thank you for your help.

Erin -

Thanks for your post.  My James from Tip was married in Chicago to Catherine Hackett by 1873, so I can say with some confidence he was not married in London in 1877, but thanks for checking.  Actually that James was the son of a James, and there were four more in a direct line after him, so we must not be an imaginative lot.  But if you find any stray nuggets that aren't yours, send 'em my way and I will do likewise.

One last thought - that address on "Eric" street should probably have been "Erie" street - on the near north side of the city (Just north of the Chicago River from the Loop) runs east-west and is very close to, and parallel with, Hirsch.
