Devon Lookup Requests / Re: FISHER family of Tiverton
« on: Thursday 17 March 22 04:01 GMT (UK)  »
Hi Saffron,
I have Francis Arthur Braddon Fisher as a 2nd cousin twice removed. I have not got to you fathers line yet or his offspring, but would be keen to update my records. I guess that makes us cousins. Not sure how to put that into Ancestry jargon though. I have the tree going back to Stephen Fisher b 1777 where unfortunately I  hit a dead end. I would be happy to help you fill in any blanks you have just let me know what you are looking for.
Kind regards
Richard Sealy-Fisher

ps John Salter Fisher is my 2nd great grand uncle

I think James R H McIntosh may have been born in South Africa as his parents were married on 29 July 1892 (i understand)

Greetings from NZ,
The maternal side of my family are McIntosh's from South Africa. From what I can see, we are talking about the same family, although I have no record of the return to England which I am eager to learn more about. I can recall that my Grandfather had some connection to Potgietersrust. (I'll try to find out what it was). My Granfather was John McIntosh. His brothers were James Robert Hay, and William. It would be fantastic if you were able to supply more information on the Scottish ancestory. I am currently trying to put together more details of the SA link which I have sadly neglected so far.

Hi Jill,

Hi Donald, (Sorry folk/Jill if I don't have the protcol right, I am new at this)
I would love to see what you have, I can give you fairly accurate data from Herbert Sealy Fisher down. I certainly seems we are related. I am a liyttle baffeled by rootschat (as I am new at it). can one attche this info on here? Do we swap personal email addreses? I look foward to hearing from you.

Best wishes
Richard

I was excited to see your post. I have been looking for more info on Stephen Senior +- 1777-1838. I have a record of Stephen Fisher "junior" and a number of his descendants. I have also summarised some of the records from the Blundells School which seemend to be well attended by his descendants. My line of Fishers is from William (rev) 1810-1865.  His grandson Charles William also moved to South Africa (Estcourt, Natal). I would in the early 1900's. Would you know anything more about Stephen Fishers ancestors?
Kind regards
Richard Sealy-Fisher (now residing in New Zealand)
