Hi Pat,

Glad to make contact.  Yes, the entrance to Faircross is directly from the main road between Naas and Newbridge (just as the road becomes four lanes), right next door to Pfizer.  The house is hidden from the road by the tall trees around it.  I do have photos of the house from when my father lived there as a child.  Are you related to the Coffey's who lived there?  James Coffey was the owner of the house and he was married to Mary.  They had two daughters and three sons I think.  My great grandfather was married to one of their daughters (Margaret).  My grandfather grew up at Faircross followed by my father and his sister.

What is your connection to them?

Sylvia

Hello Pat,

Not sure if you have read my email of 22nd September?  If not I am resending and hope to hear from you.

 :)Hello Pat,

I too am researching Faircross just outside of Newbridge and just yesterday located it on a trip down to Newbridge.

We may be related as The Coffey's (James & Mary) were my g.g. grandparents.    Their daughter Margaret married Richard M Murphy in 1885 in Newbridge.

I can't wait to hear back from you to see if we are looking for the same family?

Sylvia

Kildare / Cemetry at Great Connell, Newbridge

I am told that there is a Church of Ireland graveyard very close (one the same road) to the burial ground of the Abbey of Great Connell.  I am looking for my g.grandfather Dr. Richard Murphy who may have been buried there in March 1895.  Does anyone know of where I can search for burial lists of those buried there?  I have the list of those buried at the Abbey of Great Connell but he is not to be found on it or at least no trace of him having been internet there although his obituary stated that he was.  Many thanks.  Sylvia
