Good morning Bruce;

George Ernest Garbutt married Helen Marie Clayton (my mother ) on 26 Dec 1953 in Hamilton Ontario. They had 5 children (*)The first two children were born in Hamilton Ontario and the rest in Ottawa Ontario.

 Only myself and Christina have children; two girls for me and one boy for Christina.  I also have one grandaughter. Not sure if you want or need additional details this far down the line.

My father died in 1973 but I don't recall the exact date. My parents had been separated for three years and he never contacted us again prior to his death in Toronto.  My mother probably had a copy of his death certificate at one time but only for the purposes of collecting a government pension.  She does not have it now and has no interest in it either.  I asked her yesterday :-)

Good day;

I've read with interest your comments about the Garbutt family.  I can confirm that George Ernest Garbutt was born in 1927 to George Henry Garbutt and Mabel Thorhill.  I am George Ernest Garbutt's daughter. Family knowledge from my end of the tree says that Muriel was illegitimate, father unknown and that George and Thelma were the two children of George H and Mabel.  All three were raised together.
