Lancashire Lookup Requests / Re: 1861 census for Manchester for Platt
« on: Friday 05 August 05 22:42 BST (UK)  »
The trouble is that there are two Adam Platt's born around the same time, my Adam was born in Chorley in May 1805 to James and Jane.  Adam  was a blacksmith not a farmer.  The other Adam is on the IGI born 6 Feb 1806 also in Chorley and his parents were Ralph and Ellen.  I am sure that they are related as both families gave  the same names to their children.

Lancashire Lookup Requests / 1861 census for Manchester for Platt
« on: Friday 05 August 05 01:48 BST (UK)  »
I am looking for Adam and Elizabeth Platt, by 1861 he would be about 56.  Pat replied to my earlier message to say that it was near impossible to find them on the 1841/51 census without an address.  All I know is that they had children born in Manchester.  I know that this is a very big ask but this family has been a brick wall now for the last 10 to 15 years, as I can not get past  the birth of James in 1835 but I do know that they had a son William born c 1842 and I can not find his birth.
Thank you

Lancashire Lookup Requests / Re: Adam platt at Chorley 1871 census
« on: Monday 01 August 05 23:21 BST (UK)  »
Thank you all for repling. I am not sure that this is my family could Ellen be Elizabeth.  My Adam was bapt in Chorley in 1805 son of James and Jane.  Although most of these children's names are the same as my Adams siblings names.
I know that my Adam had a James (who was in AUST by 1861) and a William b c 1842.  So I guess that I need and earlier census record for Adam.  I think my family could have moved to Manchester or Liverpool after 1829, as I found a James b 1835 Manchester on the IGI.   I don't know how to find this family on the 1841 and 1851 census any help would be appreciated.
Kind Regards
Michelle

Could I request a lookup of the 1871 census for Adam Platt he died at Chorley aged 65 in the DEC quarter 1871 so he should be on the census.  His wife was Elizabeth Grimshaw and they married in Chorley in 1826.
Thanks

Huntingdonshire Lookup Requests / Re: Huntingdonshire Quarter sessions
« on: Sunday 26 June 05 01:04 BST (UK)  »
Hi Mike
Thank you for answering.  I don't think I will hire anybody just yet as I don't know if he belongs to my Dennis family.  I think that he could be a brother of my Samuel Dennis.
Is there a way of  looking at his details on his entry into the 15th Regiment of foot?  I need a way of finding out who his parents were.
Thanks
Michelle
