Hi,

I can't piece you into my family, but I believe I am distantly related to the shoemakes from Mold.

Have a look at my tree and see if any of it fits.

Hi Rowlandson,

There's were a lot of Thomas Matthias's living in that area at the time. I think I may leave this one for a bit and tackle another descendant!

Hi Mldy

I have found two similar named families. Listed on 1851 census as living in Broughton is Thomas Matthias, 49; Ann Matthias, 44; Children Joseph. 19; Jonathan, 16; Hannah, 18; Thomas, 9; Edward, 5.

Think this must be the family you are speaking of, although curious as to why Jonathan is missing off the voyage to the USA.

Also on the 1851 census living in Brymbo (both villages close to each other) is Thomas Matthias, 62; Ann Matthias, 60; Children Ellen, 27; Thomas, 23; Edward, 1.
Thomas' father is John Matthias and Mother is Catherine Matthias (nee Evans).

I think this clan is from my family tree.

Be interested if anyone could confirm this?

Hi, My gr/gr/gr Grandfather is Ishmael Griffiths :o The information I have says he married a Sarah Williams, but I'm not sure how reliable this is.
Do you have anymore information about the his relations?

Regards

Jeremy

I replied on another one of your posts. My gr/gr grandfather is a Joseph Dodd of Broughton, born in 1836, died 1910.
The information I have shows his wife as being Joanna Dodd, nee Dodd. I'm not sure if her maiden name is correct.
Any ideas?

Hi,
My gr/gr grandmother was born Harriet Matthias (born c1830), in Brymbo. Do you have any links to her?

Regards, Jeremy

Hi, I'm just starting to research my family tree, and my great grandfather's mother's name, before marriage, was Harriet Matthias from around Brymbo. She Married Thomas Griffiths.
I estimate she was born c1830, but don't have anymore information.

I'm guessing there is probably some connection here?
