Kent Lookup Requests / Re: Kent Assizes Lookup 1834 - DAMMERY
« on: Sunday 09 February 14 16:29 GMT (UK)  »
My Dammery family emigrated to Australia (Carlton, near Sydney) in the 1960s/70s. They were Thomas, Lilly and Violet Dammery but seemed to change the spelling of their surname to Dammeary.
I have lost touch with them but know that both Thomas and Lilly(ie) are now dead. Violet married an Albert E Pike and, if still alive, would be in her mid-90s.
Originally, the family came from Greenwich - now Greater London but before sometimes shown in documents as Surrey or Kent.
Dammery/Dammeary are uncommon surnames so the Andrew Dammery in question might well be related.
Any information would be most welcome.

Berkshire Completed Look ups / Re: Pangbourne Parish Registers-TERRY/TARRY
« on: Wednesday 22 August 12 22:52 BST (UK)  »
Hello Wilma,
I believe this is part of my family on my mother's side. She was a Terry from Greenwich, London. Her grandfather, James, was a barge builder.
I have not done a lot of research on this side of my family for a few years but remember tracing them back to Pangbourne, Berks, where, I'm sure, they were also barge builders. That is where I came to a brick wall, with a Charles Terry, born about 1827, married to Elizabeth. In about 1853, Charles and Elizabeth had a son, James, who married Mary Anne Taylor. James was my mother's great grandfather. I hope this helps and would be grateful of any information you have on this family.
Yours,
Chris
