I am very intersted in your photograph of your gggrandfather Alfred Thomas Smithers.
He is also my gggrandfather. That would make us 4th cousins.
He is referred to as Alfred Snr. by his ggrandchildren,his son,also Alfred, being referred to as Alfred Jnr.

Nora Pillow is my ggrandmother, my father and aunt have very clear memories of her when the family were living at Leopold Street in Ramsgate.
