Family History Beginners Board / Links to Sweden and Norway

Hi I am looking into my family history and I would like to know more about my links to sweden and norway.
I am also interested in finding out more about the royal connections to Jon Raud Ivarsson and Hafthor Jonsson.
I have royal links in my family tree if anyone is interested in this and has any information please do get in touch I am interested to know more.

Hi well since I have some time today I thought I would give some more detail on my family tree and what I do know.
I want to thankyou for the replys that I have for beginning.
It would help if my scanner worked but I don't mind typing it.

I went to the library today to get a few books out on Family history.
There are a lot of names in my family history I am related to Jon Raud Ivarsson Baron of Sdderheim.
It says the father of Marta Beata was Carl Christian Roos AF HJELMASTER I do have dates and other names if anyone is interested in anymore or can give me anymore details.
It would be nice to know more.

From Sweden and Norway, thankyou so much for helping out I can write on here more of what I have the names roos are on there too.

I will eventually write it down.
I was thinking of writing an online journal I want to find out as much as I can.

Family History Beginners Board / Help with Family History

Hi Everyone this is my first time on the forum.
I have just started doing my Family History online and already I am hooked and would like to learn more.
I thought if I joined a forum or messageboard I could maybes get some help or information.
I have a long family history and I am building my Tree on the Geni website as well.
I don't really have the money in which to search records online as such but I have been using google.
There is a word in my Family history which is Hjelmaster and it is really bugging me as I don't really understand what it means? Is it the name of a place or a person? I have searched in google and have found nothing yet the only information I did find was that it could be the name of the family crest?
Not sure any help would be much appreciated?
I am a beginner in Family history and sometimes it is confusing but as I do have the time It would be interesting to learn more and find out something new.
I would also like to share some of my Family history to other members.
