Hello, I hope I'm on the correct forum to ask, if not please let me know. I am wondering if some kind person can take a photo of possibly two headstones in Palmerston North Cemetery (Kelvin Grove). Their names are George Henry Shelley area D, block 22, plot 6 and his wife Sarah Shelly area Q, block 1, plot 10.
With thanks
Chris

Hello Freckle
Would it be possible to ask for another lookup please? This time for Lorna May Sharp and her husband Frederick. Lorna died in 1980.
With thanks

John Francis Martin enlisted in the 13th Battalion, 5th reinforcements on 22nd Feb 1915 with the rank of Private when he was just 19 years old. He was the only son of Edward and Maria (Clements) Martin. He embarked from Sydney on 13th Apr 1915 on the ship HMAT Kyarra. He was killed at Gallipoli 22nd Aug 1915. He has no known grave, however his name is on panel 38 at the Lone Pine Memorial and also on panel 70 Australian War Memorial in Canberra.

Hello, would the offer of Moree cemeteries still be available. If so, can I please have a lookup for the Church of England cemetery  for the Kimball family. Also, would any photos of headstones be available.

With thanks
Chris

Sussex / Re: Death of Edward Piper Sussex

Thanks you for your reply Roy

I had not considered that Edward might also have been known as George or John or that he may have been a convict. Will look for that.

Someone in the family has a list of births taken from what must be Lucy's Bible with the first two children being George Piper born 27 Feb 1812 and Elizabeth Piper born 26 Feb 1821.

The births of Lucy's two children were actually more than 12 months apart, I made a typo sorry, with Mehali's birth. It should have read 1825.

I do feel I have the right mother Lucy as her second husband Richard Smith brought three children with him to Australia in 1839 after Lucy had died in 1837.

The children were Joseph Stephen, Mahala and James, all with the surname Smith. The family have always been aware that Lucy Piper nee Ransome was their mother. We were not aware that Joseph and Mahala were born with the surname Piper. Another family member has just made us aware of these Baptisms.

As I descend from Joseph, I am now confused as to whether I am a Piper or a Smith?
With thanks
Chris
