Family History Beginners Board / Re: need a miracle

Iv'e been researching some of my family for around 2 years and have found lots of information thats pleased me.
The one that I have absolutly nothing on is my Grandad on my mothers side as I believe he was born in Ireland.
His name was William Patrick McDonald born c1900,his Father was Richard McDonald.He married Edith Dobson in newcastle in 1925.They were Catholics.
I have in my possesion an in loving memory card for a Richard McDonnell died 1932 and his wife Ellen McDonnell died 1934.
I don't know how these are conected but a Nellie McDonnell signed as a witness at my Grandads wedding.
Apart from this information I know very little.
Can anyone point me in the right direction.
