Thanks so much for all your work!  They look amazing... This is actually a photo of my mum who is now nearly 80. I want to give her a better copy for her birthday as it's the only photo she has of when she was a child. The faded out dress was a bit of an issue I know...

japesflakes - you're a fast worker.  A brilliant result in 20 mins!
rsinbad - how creative to give her arms!
niksmum - that uncoloured version is superb. My dad had a go at restoring it but yours is so much better.
terry - I love the subtle colouring you have given her.

Thank you all so much!!!

Hi - could someone work their magic with this photo please.  If you are adding colour her hair was dark brown and her eyes were blue.  I'm not sure what colour the dress was originally.  Thanks in advance!

This is the record the other poster was referring to:
Births Dec 1908
~~~~~~~~
Pease  George    Hackney  1b 443
The only way to find out for sure would be to order the certificate but remember that George is a very common name and Hackney a very populated area so it could just be a coincidence.  Also in my family tree the latter born children seem to get their parents names not the first born.
Just found a 1903 Pease marriage in Hackney and 3 other children born shortly after that so could easily be another family if the 1908 George doesn't fit with anything you have been told by family memebers.
Marriages Sep 1903
~~~~~~~~
Pease  Richard Benjamin    Hackney  1b 967

Births Mar 1905
Pease  Albert Thomas    Hackney  1b 522
Pease  Violet Annie     Hackney  1b 438

Births Jun 1906
Pease  Constance Margaret E     Hackney  1b 412

Have you checked alternative spellings?  Free BMD has this record in Stepney:

Deaths Sep 1861   (>99%)
~~~~~~~~
Hilliard  Elizabeth     St. Geo. East  1c 303
It was very educational for anyone interested in English social history - reform schools, emigration patterns, prison life, gypsy way of life.  And a little bit of education re census searches for those considering starting a search.  But it broke the mould in that she didn't go further than Warwickshire!
Shocked that 9 year olds were shipped off to Canada without their parents consent!
I'm watching.  Like that they have her mum starting her off with a few old photos and stories.  Over a v pretty china cup of tea - perhaps Tracey is not so rock and roll after all!
Going against the concensus I see the first surname as Weils.  Not sure why anyone would write an exceptionally long S right next to a small one
