William H BARRETT was my great great grandfather.
Also with them on board SS Tainui with William Henry BARRETTand his wife and the four children was his daughter Minnie and her husband and their baby son.
It appears that their eldest child William George BARRETT was in NZ when they arrived, and working in the Feilding/Palmerston North area. I do not know when he arrived but I hold a copy of his death certificate naming his parents as William Henry and Ellen. He was married and is buried in Karori Cemetery, Wellington.
