We are just piecing the story together now as part of the campaign, so if you do have any information on the Dickinson branch, just send them to me at  and we will see what we can find!

Thank you!

Thank you very much Sandymc47!

Yum, Yorkshire Puddings are good too though! If you are ever in Melton Mowbray, do pop in for a Melton Mowbray Pork Pie at Ye Olde Pork Pie Shoppe! :)

Thanks again!

We are celebrating our 160th Anniversary this year! Help us search for our founders' ancestors - for more information see www.porkpie.co.uk/160

We have been baking authentic Melton Mowbray Pork Pies since 1851 and are now launching a quest to find the ancestors from the Dickinson and Morris families, founders of our business. In our search for family members, we have teamed up with Ancestry.co.uk, the biggest family tree website, to help make this easier for you to do!...

If you find out that you are one of our relatives or know someone who could be, please let us know. We also look forward to receiving your photos and family letters. Please follow us on Twitter on @160yearsofpies. See our dedicated micro-site too - www.porkpie.co.uk/160

Dickinson & Morris has a fascinating history! Mary Dickinson (1768-1841) is considered the creator of the hand raised Melton Mowbray Pork Pie. In the 1790s the Dickinson family was already well known as Pork Pie makers and Stilton cheese merchants. Mary's grandson John started a pork pie business and in 1851 rented the shop in Nottingham Street, Melton Mowbray. An apprentice, Joseph Morris, was taken on in 1886 and became like a son to John Dickinson. In 1901 the partnership between John Dickinson and Joseph Morris was cemented and the business became Dickinson & Morris. Are you related...?  Thank you in advance for your help!
